Winter holds its grasp with cold nights and damp conditions but take a closer look whilst walking the dog to watch Mother Nature pushing on with existence as Spring is starting to show her face.

The trees are budding just waiting for the release of the sap which activates the leaf structure growth, the daffodils are emerging with great speed and in places the wild garlic is at a size it can be picked.

Spring brings great excitement to all as new growth and promise of finer weather beckons many but be warned we are a bit away from those early crops so be careful as we could all be knee-deep in snow this time in February
