What's Tricky This Coming Week ???

With produce travelling from all corners of the globe there is always something you should stay away from.

This page is designed to ensure you don’t get caught out by listing something on your menu when supply is proving slightly tricky.

Fresh produce revolves around the climate so changes happen frequently, make sure you come back every week to find out what will be difficult during the coming week.

    Pomegranates

If you have fresh pomegranates on your menu, please take note as supply is pretty much non-existent for at least the next two weeks.

Over the years the good Pomegranate has considerably grown in popularity, bringing longer seasons to this luscious fruit. Thinking back during August in a usual season we wouldn't see fruits until the Spanish crop arrived.

For the next two weeks, fresh fruit will not be available, but an alternative option such as puree will be.

    Cauliflower

The fantastic white curds of the cauliflower are struggling at the moment due to a prolonged period of extremely unsettled weather.

Weeks back severe rain wiped total crops away from the fields as downpours damaged emerging plants, then suddenly extreme heat the other week baked the ground making growth pretty much impossible.

We do have supply, but volumes are relatively tight and white curd is somewhat golden due to sporadic growing conditions.

    Broccoli

Just like our good friend, the cauliflower - Broccoli is having similar trouble as sporadic weather is causing problems with usual growing patterns.

Please Be Warned - Prices may rise without much warning over the next week.

We know it's not the same but Courgette could be a great alternative - along with awesome summer green kale.
