    Basil

    As warned fresh basil has been a disaster this past week with crops in Kenya being affected by poor weather plus ports in Belgium for land freight crop have been blocked causing severe pain.

    We do have stock, but volumes are limited it would be better to pre-order your requirements - Micro Green/Red are not affected as these are grown in Leeds...

    UK Apples

    Stored UK apples are starting to run dry as demand this year has been amazing in both our chef world but equally in retail as people across the land have been embracing our native fruiting trees.

    We won't see the return of UK apples until Early September when we have something totally mind-boggling to share with everyone - We can't wait - Until then a switch to European fruit will be happening over the next few days...

    This green alien is here to be enjoyed but with limited supply at the moment prices are on the steep side and after chatting with the Spanish grower the high price tag could be here for some time.

    Don't fall out of love as its still available and can add that magical touch to anything it touches but may hurt your GP in the process.

    Brexit

    The uncertainty around Brexit looms on as people are becoming increasingly nervous around the implications a no deal Brexit could have on our beloved land.

    At this stage, we can only communicate we are working hard to plan for either situation, as news starts to emerge closer to the deadline we will be able to update you further.

    Logistics back to the UK will most definitely bring the most prominent challenge which could be very much out of our control.

    We are working extremely hard with our logistical department to plan/avoid limited effect if a situation arose. We will of course update with any news as we receive it...

    Cucumbers

    Imported Cucumber is proving a little tricky and word from the Salad Bowl this coming week could be equally as difficult.

    The Spanish crop is slowing down along with supply from Holland being equally short. UK crop is not ready just yet so demand is extremely tight please be mindful before planning a dish around the elongated cucumber

    Wensleydale Block Cheese

    A production issue with Wensleydale means the large 5kg blocks of this most magnificent cheese is going to be unavailable for a short time.

    We are reducing the pack size down to a 2.5kg piece so don't panic you just need to buy two blocks instead of one
